Collecting a DNA sample for pathogen testing is a very simple process. The healthcare professional will swab either a nasal passage, wound or other affected area to collect small amounts of DNA. Sometimes they might clip a fingernail or toenail for samples as well.
What should patients expect when collecting a cancer DNA sample?
We use a saliva collection kit when collecting a cancer DNA sample, which uses a q-tip like tool to swab the mouth.
